The Medical-Engineering Interdisciplinary Research center for Chronic Disease Diagnosis & Rehabilitation was jointly established in June 2022 by the College of Engineering and Design and Hunan People's Hospital (the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University) (No.6 of the school bank issued scientific Research word [2022]). The center responds to the national major needs for the early diagnosis and rehabilitation of chronic diseases in China with a high incidence of chronic diseases and a highly aging society, focusing on the early diagnosis of diabetes and hypertension and their sequelae, as well as the rehabilitation assistance technology for serious sequelae of chronic diseases (walking disorder, swallowing disorder), and conducting innovative research through the cooperation of engineering and medical experts. To realize the innovation of medical diagnosis, rehabilitation evaluation and auxiliary treatment methods, technologies and instruments.
